Spend 10 days travelling through Sabah, from Sandakan and Sepilok to Kinabatangan, Kundasang, Kampung Kiau, Kota Kinabalu and Manukan Island. The trip focuses on Borneo’s wildlife, river landscapes, village visits and time by the sea. Visit the orangutan, sun bear and rainforest centres in Sepilok, take river cruises on the Kinabatangan, and stay in a mix of standard hotels and jungle lodges. In the highlands around Kundasang and Kampung Kiau, the itinerary adds village life and local food before continuing to Kota Kinabalu and Manukan Island. This trip does not include climbing Mount Kinabalu. Some journeys are long and are made in a private vehicle with the group, so space may feel limited at times. Arrival in Sandakan
Arrive in Sandakan and settle in before the evening welcome meeting. If time allows, explore the city on your own or look for a place to have dinner with the group. - 2

Sepilok and Sandakan heritage
Visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre and the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Later, follow part of Sandakan’s heritage walk and learn more about the city’s past. - 3
Kinabatangan
To the Kinabatangan River
Travel by private vehicle to the Kinabatangan River and check in at a jungle lodge. In the afternoon, take a river cruise and look for wildlife along the banks before dinner at the lodge.
