Central Laos by Train: Vientiane, Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang

Spend five days travelling through central Laos, linking the capital with river towns, limestone scenery and some of the country’s best-known cultural sites. The route combines Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang and the Pak Ou Caves, with express train travel between the main stops. The programme includes city sightseeing in Vientiane, time in Vang Vieng, and two nights in Luang Prabang. In Luang Prabang, the trip also covers Mount Phousi, the night market and the Pak Ou Caves by boat. An early morning alms-giving visit is part of the itinerary, giving a direct look at a long-standing local tradition. This is a small-group trip with guided touring, breakfast each day, selected lunches and one dinner, plus accommodation and transport as stated in the programme.
