Japan Highlights Tour: Tokyo to Osaka in Japan

This 13-day small-group tour links Japan’s major cities with time for temples, rail travel, local food and a few hands-on cultural experiences. The route moves from Tokyo through the Fuji area, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Miyajima, before finishing in Osaka. Along the way, you join a sushi masterclass, visit Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, Shibuya and Sensoji in Tokyo, and spend time in Oshino near Mount Fuji. The trip also includes a traditional tea ceremony, a calligraphy session, Kyoto by bike, Miyajima Island, Hiroshima’s peace memorial sites and time in Osaka for independent exploring. Local transport within Japan is included, including rail journeys and bullet train travel. Accommodation is in shared hostel rooms, with one night in a traditional onsen hotel in Shimoda.

    Start with a hands-on sushi masterclass and lunch with what you prepare. In the afternoon, visit Meiji Shrine, walk through Harajuku and finish at Shibuya Crossing.
