This 11-day winter tour connects Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka and Nagano on a route that mixes city time, winter scenery and hands-on cultural activities. Start in Tokyo with Senso-ji at night, a sushi-making class and time in districts such as Harajuku, Akihabara and Shibuya. Continue to Hakone for mountain views of Mount Fuji, then travel by rail to Kyoto for Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, Gion, the Golden Pavilion and a kendo class. The final stretch takes you to Osaka for time in Dotonbori and Osaka Castle grounds, before heading to Nagano for the snow monkeys and an optional onsen stop in Yudanaka. The trip ends with the return train to Tokyo.
