It combines temple visits, river travel, cave country, waterfall scenery and time in the capital, with a domestic flight to help cover the long southbound route. Start in Luang Prabang with its old streets, monasteries and the night market. Continue to Pak Ou Caves and Kuang Si Waterfall, then travel by speed train to Vang Vieng and on to Vientiane for the capital’s main landmarks. In the south, visit the Bolaven Plateau area, Wat Phou and the Mekong islands around Don Khong and Don Det.
