    Vientiane

    Arrival in Vientiane

    Arrive at Wattay Airport and transfer to a centrally located hotel. After a short break, set out on a city tour that includes Wat Sisaket, Wat Prakeo, That Luang Stupa and a photo stop at Patuxay Monument. Overnight in Vientiane.

    Vang Vieng

    Vientiane to Vang Vieng

    Travel north on Route 13 through mountain scenery, with a stop at Vang Xang, an archaeological site from the 11th century. Continue to Vang Vieng, cross the Nam Song River to Tham Jang caves, then take a short trek to Tam None Cave and nearby hill villages before sunset over the river. Overnight in Vang Vieng.

    Vang Vieng Caves and Villages

    Drive through paddy fields to Tham Phoukham caves and the natural pool nearby. The day also includes time to meet local villagers and visit Hmong, Souay and Taidam communities on the return to town. Overnight in Vang Vieng.
