South Korea Highlights Tour
South Korea combines major cities, historic sites and mountain scenery in one compact trip. Over nine days, travel from Seoul to the east coast, on to Andong and Busan, then back to Seoul by high-speed train. Along the way, visit the Demilitarised Zone, Gwangjang Market and Gyeongbokgung Palace in the capital. In Sokcho, see Seoraksan National Park and spend time in the Abai village area. In Andong, walk through Hahoe Folk Village and stay in a traditional hanok house. The route finishes in Busan with visits to Haedong Temple, a Haenyeo community centre and Gamcheon Culture Village. This trip includes a fair amount of walking, so a good level of fitness is recommended. Comfortable walking shoes are a sensible choice, and packing light will make it easier to handle your luggage on the metro and in busy stations. Because Seoul is not explored in much depth on this itinerary, many travellers choose to add extra nights there before or after the tour.
