Travel through southern Peru from Cusco and the Sacred Valley to Lake Titicaca. This eight-day itinerary combines Inca history, mountain scenery and time on the water, with visits to Machu Picchu, the Uros Reed Islands and Taquile Island. The route also includes Chinchero, Moray, the Maras salt pans, the South Valley sites of Pikillaqta, Raqchi and Andahuaylillas, plus the overland trip from Cusco to Puno along the Route of the Sun. The trip finishes with a transfer from Puno to Juliaca for your onward flight. Cusco
Arrival in Cusco
Arrive in Cusco and transfer to your hotel in the historic centre. The rest of the day is free to acclimatise to the altitude. In the evening, meet the group and review the days ahead. - 2
Ollantaytambo
Sacred Valley and Ollantaytambo
Travel through the Sacred Valley with visits to Chinchero, Moray and the Maras salt pans. Continue to Ollantaytambo for the night after time to take in the valley landscape and Inca remains along the way. - 3
Cusco
Machu Picchu and return to Cusco
Take the train and shuttle to Machu Picchu for a guided visit of the citadel. After the tour, return to Aguas Calientes and continue by rail and road back to Cusco for the night.
